Rite of Passage

This Rite of Passage is an arc of sacred initiation and strategic advising over 9-18 months. We will midwife your fully-realized body of work into maturity; we will traverse your rite of passage through professional death and rebirth as its steward; and we will create structural coherence in your business that is rooted in integrity, sovereignty and steadiness. 

We will meet for a standing 1-hour session by phone every other week—and we will work with a precise, personalized sequence of Sanskrit mantras and related practices. In each session, we will engage in a combination of sacred practice, incisive inquiry, and strategic synthesis, and we will calibrate as needed in between sessions via Voxer or Signal. 

I will also craft you two custom-designed, sacred objects to hold the energy of crossing this threshold: a set of prayer beads to use in your practice, called a mālā, and a painting that reflects your essence and leading edge in color and line, called a soul yantra. 

Our work will follow the trajectory for your fully-realized body of work and the arc of your rite of passage as its steward that we outlined in your Intensive—at their natural pace, rhythm and direction. 

Untangling

We will begin by untangling the karmic knot of identity, value, safety and respect that inhibits the full realization of your life’s work—to access the wisdom it holds at its root. We will then follow that wisdom—whether it’s practical, archetypal or energetic—to midwife your work into its mature, fully integrated form. 

We will work with what is most present, charged or alive for you to understand how the pattern at the root of your karmic knot shows up in the structure and operation of your business, the dynamics of your relationships, and the choices that you allow yourself to entertain as possible for your body of work.

You will gain a sharp clarity and unshakable recognition of the truth of your work, your business, and yourself—and you will come to trust it to anchor and guide you, regardless of apparent circumstances.

In the process, we will discern between each type of wisdom that you receive. You will become intimate with the role and the function of each in fully realizing your work, and you will develop fluency in their language and timing, so that you can use their wisdom with strategic precision.

You will then make any initial changes to the structure or operation of your business, or the dynamics of your relationships, that will create the space and capacity for you to midwife your work into its mature, fully integrated form. 

Integration

We will then integrate the deeper, transformational, sacred aspects and the concrete, results-oriented, strategic elements of your work into a coherent whole. 

Without assuming anything, we will review your current body of work, the history of your experience and expertise, and the contours of the work that is wanting to come through you. You will remember and reclaim talent and training, as well as longing and desire, that you have dismissed or discounted.

You will listen deeply for the practical and the energetic truth about the role and fit of each element—and the relationships between them. We will identify where there are continuities and where there are complements. We will witness the patterns and name the archetypes that give your work its substance, its shape and its power, and you will begin to find the language and the form to articulate that. 

We will also distinguish between which pieces of your wisdom, expertise and experience are for you—so that your work lands with integrity and gravitas—and which are for your clients.  

Structural Coherence 

Finally, we will create new (or greater) structural coherence in your business around your mature, fully integrated body of work that is rooted in integrity, sovereignty and steadiness. 

We will discern and clarify the business model that gives the right form to your work’s substance: it allows your work to do its job in all of its depth and nuance; it creates powerful results; and it puts you at ease. We will also discern and clarify who is best positioned to fully utilize your mature, fully integrated body of work—and who wants to fully utilize it. 

We will explore what gives you energy and what drains you of energy, as well as how you flourish within the ecosystem of your business, through the lenses of your experience, your innate constitution (dosha) and your dharma archetype. We will explore how your mature, fully integrated body of work will flourish within your team—and your team within the ecosystem of your business. We will assess the sustainability and financial viability of the resulting business model, when you place your mature body of work and your financial, mental, emotional and physical well-being at the center. This will be our measure of what your mature, fully-realized body of work requires.

We will then identify the continuities and the disconnections between what your mature, fully-realized body of work requires and how your business is currently structured. We will explore how you can use existing systems and structures in ways other than for what they were built—and other than how you were taught—so that they fully support your work’s maturity. We will untangle any remaining threads of your karmic knot that are bound up in assumptions about the form your work and your business must take to succeed. We will then outline—and you will begin to take—actionable & sustainable shifts in the structure and operation of your business that are rooted in the integrity, sovereignty and wisdom of your work. 

You will develop mastery in translating the wisdom you receive from your spiritual practice into strategic precision for the structural and operational practicalities of your business. And you will become adept at holding the inevitable tension of seeming opposites and unknowns while navigating those practicalities—to discern both the action and the timing that is rooted in integrity, sovereignty and a steadiness of wisdom, rather than cultural noise, socio-economic dysfunction, or your conditioned karmic response.
